Hmmm the "R" font looks very similar to Vegas video's. Something from Sony?

Sony Acid
Re: Soundforge - finally on the Mac?
Excellent - I'll be able to get rid of parallels completely if indeed it is Sound Forge!!
Re: Soundforge - finally on the Mac?
I have to say that's really exciting. I was a big SoundForge fan and still miss it when moving to Mac. I've tried a million audio editors and have one now I like ok, but i still miss how fast i could do things in SoundForge.
Only thing that worries me is:
- Rethought. Reshaped. Recreated.
- Reinvented for the Mac
Like, no i just want SoundForge 7 to run native in OS X. I hope they didn't screw it all up. ugh.

I loved SF but haven't used it in 10 years or more, once I dropped PCs for music work. I still have some Sonic Foundry t-shirts though.
Re: Soundforge - finally on the Mac?
I think the same and hope its SF for the Mac
Again I could also get rid of Parallels just to run SF, and also I only went up to SF 8.0 so hope they havent redesigned it too much

Re: Soundforge - finally on the Mac?
Well I'm on Windows.... but the videos, especially the third one, look very nice. The fonts and stylings etc are clearly SONY, but those UI elements have been made much nicer to look at. I wonder/presume that if this is a new version of SoundForge there will also be a new matching Windows version. Although I think ACID is equally likely here, or best of all perhaps the full suite - ACID, SF and VEGAS all cross platform...
That would explain why they have been silent for so long too

Re: Soundforge - finally on the Mac?
never used soundforge but i keep hearing about it and seems to have a great following.. what's so good about it and make it better/different from other audio editors?
Re: Soundforge - finally on the Mac?
They just released http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/spectralayerspro for win/mac, and it's been awhile since an update for sound forge...
I just upgraded to 10... I bet it's ACID though.

Vegas goes MAC ?! ...
then you Apple guys are in for a treat...
but a revamp of acid could also be interesting...
I'm intrigued...

It's just such a comprehensive and well thought-out audio editor. A ton of very high quality and useful effects, good batch processing, good mastering support, it's an amazing audio tool. It's the one piece of software that makes me wish on occasion that I still had a PC.nuxnamon wrote:never used soundforge but i keep hearing about it and seems to have a great following.. what's so good about it and make it better/different from other audio editors?
