Hi

The only way for me to make notes is to type them on the clip.

Any other places to make notes?

Any way to somehow double click or right click on the clip itself to make the notes?

there is a menu option called edit info text (i think). the text comes up in the little help window in the bottom left corner. but there is nothing to show which things have info text attached so it's pretty useless unless you use it everywhere.

Right now I type such notes on the recorded clips. Want to know if each project has a section where I can write notes about the project.

Yeah that's what I thought at first. Then I saw when Sebastian joined the forum and got very worried about his mental capabilities before the penny dropped.

I use a free vst that i usually put on the master track. of course you can add it to each track also. your welcome!!

thanks nuxnamon, Installed Moutainstorm plug in. Shows up in Ableton, I drag to track, but the plugin box just sits there in the track....how do u get it to note taking view?

hhmm.. when i drag it to any track, a separate somewhat translucent window shows up for you type the info... try pressing the plug-in edit wrench button cuz my appears/disappears when i do this.. could also be that in doesn't work in your os.. it's one of those free ones that are not maintained that often

Hey - I made M4L device which shows text notes in a pop up window. Text notes can be put in via MIDI clips (just create them and name them) - this way the notes will show up/pop up at a specific time /on your timeline. I simply want project/track related info. The clip info is neat but, as in other daws, sometimes you need to simply recall eg a track setup

Mic - TLM103
Pre - Sebatron VMP
Pre settings
Pad:0
Eq: Bright
Low Cut: None
Gain: 3.5
Cables - Vovox

I use this as a library recall function and setup eg listen back to a client demo and realise the lead vox is similar to previous job, reference it and away you go...for the non preset type stuff

Im sure you could hack clip info but would be nice to have a simple way to do this...I use Live and Cubase...having notes relative to the entity is simple but effective. In cubase you can attach a pic...eg Mic position or a full panel of a pre as opposed to typing

EDIT: Based on the YT vids I researched...there was no mention of track info...only clips and locations...but there actually is Track info...but the above ability to include graphic info would still be good.

This M4L device works great.

You can add an image in Live too, it just needs to be in Arrangement. Then double-click it or cmd+alt+v, or show video in the menu bar.
