i haven't had any issues.

which firewire hard drive are you using? and what OS?
these details are just as important.

i use OSX 10.3.8 and a VST FWFH20 Firewire400 enclosure.
No problems.

also, for future reference, you may want to post something like this in the Bugs & Problems section of the forum

Lacie D2 XP SP1 here and as stated not a single problem.
I wouldn't be suprised if SP2 is the culprit myself.

me either, SP2 has reduced the priorities of peripherals in the name of realtime security.

djjooui, has your computer had SP1 on it? can you do a system restore to an SP1 state and test?

Reply, Can't mount my lacie hd d2 on sp1.

According to Lacie, they recommed installing sp2 because it handles firewire better. By the way, I'm using the 4 pin config cable. Pcmcia cards do not work with the LAcie hd.

Using 4 pin Config here too Djjooui ... as stated XP Pro / SP1 / Live 4.1.1
lacie D2 Firewire drive 160gig capacity - works flawlessly.
Perhaps you have a faulty cable ????

I've tried 2 different cables, and still hd dismounts occasionally. Alot of overload red lights. I originally had on sp1, and my laptop would not see my firewire hd, so I upgraded to sp2 with fire device uploader. My is also partition in 4 parts nfts. Maybe USB is the way to go.
