Difficulties Rewiring Live with Logic

First off, there are three open manuals on my desk, and I have had as many as five windows open at once, each refering to different forums as I have been stumbling through this one. All day.

I have an 11 track wide, 6 scene deep Live set, and I have been trying to rewire each ndividual track into Logic 7.

I am doing this specifically to conserve power with AU's and for the purpose of vocoding a couple of tracks.

I am uncertain of wether or not Logic 7 can do this, but I think it can.

I have read that Logic can only rewire studio pairs, but I am uncertain of how many different studio pairs it can handle.

I initially established a rewire, by opening Logic, setting audio channels 2 and 3 to rewire L/R in the audio channel. Audio channel one was recieving mic'd vocals, and the were sent to bus 16, which was side chained to a pvoc 20.

Next I opened up live. I knew from the start I was going in the right direction because this was the first time I ever heared any sound at all, while playing Live with Logic open. I then tried to record the sound from Live in Logic, but it would not happen. I armed the record on my pvoc, and it seemed to interact with Lives output, but still there was no recorded audio.

After troubleshooting with a few suggestions I found in forums, I am now at a point where I can no longer recreate my previous scenario. Everytime I open Live it says " Live is still rewired to a previous something or another" and I cannot get it to rewire!

If and when I get live unslaved from it's previous slave, I intend to try to send each of the initial Live tracks to apir of bus's in Logic. Is this the right idea? Just assign 22 audio channels to ReWire Bus's?

Does anyone know a fail-safe method of unslaving Live from it's previous role?

I have taken time away from digging myself deeper to ask for help here, because I really don't want to F things up any more.

Despite (for now) the complexity of Logic, I believe that working with these two together could be one of the best ways of getting by with Live on a mac.

I ask this loaded question here, because I am a diehard Live user, and I am specifically concerned with how it interacts with Logic.

:D All figured out. It has taken me a considerable amount of time with this whole Logic stuff, but things are definately picking up. I don't think I am quite getting all that I can out of rewire but hopefully I will pick it up with time. If only Apple included those wonderful Live help windows/tutorials. I want to have children, just so I can ween them off of this wonderful German software!
