euro character from keyboard

I'm actually using 8.3.2, but this probably works the same way in latest 8.3. beta.
When editing live set's info note, I pressed Alt-GR and 5 keys. This should produce € character.
But for some reason some other graphic character was added to text.
If I press ALt-GR and 3 or 4, I get £ and $. So those work normally. But not Euro - why?
