I think what you are describing is just a regular USB cable. USB on one side, square on the other (with the top corners angled in)?
All of my USB powered MIDI keyboards use the same standard USB cable...

This is correct
+1 (A being the flatter end and B being the squarer)

I thought about that after I quoted that post-- that it could be interpreted as a smart ass comment "You know, the A to B cable!"
Thanks for clarifying -- this is a frustrating thing if you aren't in "the know" in our business.

L to R: Micro-B plug, a non-USB proprietary plug, Mini-B plug (5-pin, upside down), Standard-A receptacle (upside down), Standard-A plug, Standard-B plug

Hehe, to add to that there is the M-Audio UNO which is USB--->MIDI. But for my Korg M50 using the USB-A to B plug nets me ability to do other things (storage if I recall, shows you how long it's been since I Putzed under the hood of it....lol). But it also has MIDI IN/OUT so I would assume I should be able to use the M-Audio UNO in that fashion for MIDI putzing on it.
