Issues with asio4all, windows 7

Post by sigabort » Thu Jul 12, 2012 8:09 pm

Hi, seeing init problems with asio4all on windows 7. has worked fine with 32-bit live for as long as I can remember, but alot of times when I start up the beta I get no sound and I have to go into hardware setup for asio4all and play around with setting before i can get sound to come out.

anyone else seeing issues with this?

Working fine for me, win 7 64 i7 laptop, no issues yet with aiso4all.
DAWS: Live 11 Suite + PUSH2, Studio One, Bitwig and Reason all via an X32 desk: Instruments: modular and analogue stuff, guitars, basses and drums.

Hi Sigabort,

Do you have Direct sound applications running, media players, or browsers with streaming media open such as youtube, soundcloud or alike?.

Did you install the latest Asio4ALL driver?.

Please tell us which brand the audio card is.

Hi Mads. No, nothing else is running. I am running the 2.11 beta drivers. I could go back and install the 2.10 ones.

The audio card is a built in Realtek card on a DELL L502X laptop.

I've got another instance of Windows which I'll try later this evening and let you know.

It can happen if you have previously plugged an hdmi out cable from your computer to a tv screen.

as it passes both image and sound through hdmi, asio4all can loose the default connexion when you open ableton live.

but It rarely happens and not any problem with the beta with asio.

Just the first run, audio was glitching and I had to set buffer from 256ms to 1024ms.
then I could reet it to 256 without hearing any glitches.

Sure you should use 2.10 rather than the beta.
cheers

hi sigaport,

Please open a new thread if you can reproduce this problem on your second computer with the released version of ASIO4ALL. I am closing this to keep overview of reproduced open problems of the beta, but if you have new info please relay it to us since it would help us onwards in tracking this.

best,
Mads
