If You Use Ipad Primarily for Music apps Only, Question 4 u?

ok so I just got an ipad but I'm wondering if what I got is necessary. I've been playing with it for the day and I'm pretty sure I only want to use it for
tabletop app
imaschine app
couple of other drum machine apps
ielectribe or fl studio
animoog
books and magazines
sample editing.
wifi browsing
don't play any games what so ever
won't watch movies
won't use it to listen to music although I will be editing samples on it but I have a 120gig ipod for music.
what do you think would realistically work in my situation spec wise., would an ipad v2 16 be too little?

Will be fine.
If you have any storage issues, which you probably won't, you can always send files to your computer.
I would suggest trying out a sequencer/arp. Something like StepPolyArp or the Phaedra Step Sequencer.
Pretty powerful little apps.

yeah i got an ipad 3 with a large amount of space and I've been kicking myself thinking if the ipad 2 16 is enough I could have gotten that plus saved enough money for a hardware synth. I just don't want to have it be that I needed more in the end if I return it.

If all you want is music stuff, ipad 2 was probably enough. However if you like to use it for web browsing or reading news/magazines/books, I think you'll be glad you get the retina display.

Sounds like you're more into it for non-music activities. I'm extrememly glad for the display. I found the pre-V3 ipads to be muddy with small text and graphics. Ipad 3 is great.

It won't stay that way.
Let me just say though that I bought a bunch of music apps. Although things like beatmaker and nanostudio are really quite excellent, I just can't be bothered. I'll just make music on my laptop. I basically just use the control apps (Omni TR, Alchemy mobile, Touchable, grid pro).

Dont downgrade, for anything music you want the fastest processor- consider some new hot apps coming up all the time ( I noticed serious difference with Alchemy on the iPad 3- very smooth) , for everything else the display only is worth it (your eyes saying thank you)

I have a stupid amount of music apps I rarely use, and although 105% of my music for the last 6 years has been made completely with computer plugins I’m considering recording some parts using some of the finer synths. But I’m not going to be syncing shit, just play it live, you know like they did for the 100 years or so before MIDI.

I just downloaded the tabletop and it seems pretty awesome. The prices seem a little high to me though to buy the in app addons.
I kinda like garage band on the ipad. If I only had a good way to get audio in and out.

You should be kicking yourself.
Both Tarekith & I told you you only needed a 16gb ipad2 months ago, like in March. I'm hurt.
