FM8 64-bit sounds different than 32-bit

Not sure if this is a bug on Ableton's side or Native Instrument's side, but when I run FM8 using the following patch playing C1 in 32-bit vs 64-bit sounds complete different. If I transpose the note to C2 in 64-bit mode it sounds closer but I don't think it's quite the same.

I'd love to start using the 64-bit version on a daily basis, but this is kind of a deal breaker for me right now.
Thanks!
Equipment used:
MacPro 3.2ghz, OS X 10.7.4, Ableton 8.4b3, FM8 1.2.0 (R1016)

Are you loading the FM8 patch fresh onto a 64bit Live session or are you opening a saved 32 bit session into 64bit?
(I ask because there have been some issues with some parameters not being kept/remembered with FM8 patches when reopening saved projects in some DAWs).

Just tried opening an fresh project in the Beta based on your suggestion and I get the same result. Definitely a bizarre behavior.

Ah well, definitely worth asking.
I tried your patch and can confirm the same behavior... FM8 plays an octave lower in 64bit.
Same OSX/version specs as you, except using a MBP.

I don't have another DAW, but that would tell us if it's Ableton or FM8

I can test in S1. Will post the results later.

Hi,
We reproduced this problem on both windows and osx. We will investigate if we can do anything on the Live side, but I doubt it.
Best,
Mads

Managed to reproduce this behavior in Studio One.
Looks like an NI/FM8 issue.

I just don't understand how it is possible when porting from 32 to 64 bit to loose an octave xD
I mean, it's a matter of changing ints to long longs and allocating bigger page sizes, aint'it ?

What then ?
EDIT : quote from MSDN :
Porting your code to compile for both 32- and 64-bit Microsoft Windows is straightforward. You need only follow a few simple rules about casting pointers, and use the new data types in your code. The rules for pointer manipulation are as follows.
