I cannot get my VST plugins to work on abelton live, and have been getting quite frustrated. Will someone help give me some sort of direction to go in.
My friend uses abelton a lot on mac, and has told me that I have to download the torrent of whatever plugin I want, un-zip it to my specified plugin folder, and how to search for it using abelton. Yet I still cannot get any to work.

For example, I downloaded the "FM8" plugin, and it seems to be the synth program itself, and not one that I can use through Abelton.

Any kind of help on the subject would be amazing. Thanks.

Difficult to say what's gone wrong with your install because of the cracked nature of the software you've stolen.

Well the problem in my opinion is that I'm probably not even downloadiing the riight software.

Would you happen to know of a vst plugin that i could find to try?

stop being a leech and buy your software instead of stealing it.

if you don't want to pay for anything then there's plenty of genuinely free software available.
try the database at KVR.
