Video Editing Plugins Advice sought

Hello guys, Im looking to string together a simple music video and am looking for a recommendation for something that will allow me to cut and chop say 4 videos one with my mixer one with my synth one with machine one with launchpad and create a grid type video that i can upload online to let people here my music
I would also be interested in a audio spectrum wave generator to have as a backdrop, I've heard jitter is good for this but never used it
I am looking at downloading the trial of adobe after effects and will do some youtube tutorials on that.
Is after effects overkill for what I am needing or does that have any built in audio tools that i am looking for
