Recording Latency Question

Hello all,

I am fairly new user of Ableton, and I love it!

However, I am having trouble synching my playing to the set. I think the problem is latency in my audio device.

For example, I lay down a trivial drum track. Hits on the beat. Now I strum my guitar on the beat. The recording I get is not on the beat.

How do I adjust and calibrate this? Is there a movie/manual I should watch/read?

Thank you very much
Peter

Follow the delay compensation tutorial in the help section. You will be hooking up your output directly to one of your inputs. and recording a test tone. (you need to make sure you turn off direct monitoring on your card first) You also need to make sure you have your monitoring set to off on the channel you are recording on or you will be recording the latency.
