i'm not sure if this has been discussed anywhere else (haven't been able to find it)...

when i make a rack (instrument/midi/audio) and try to control its macros using a M4L patch, (eg with the CtrlGridSeq) it seems to work fine at first.
... until i go into Map Mode for the rack i'm trying to control with the max patch.

it seems to me that if i control a macro knob with a max patch, i'm no longer able to adjust the Min/Max values for that knob under Macro Mappings... or rather, i'm able to adjust the values, but Live ignores the settings and simply uses the full range.

has anyone else had this problem?
is there a solution for this?

i got your patch working (i'm a bit of a max noobie so it took me awhile to figure out that it's possible to simply paste code snips into the patcher ), followed your steps with operator, and you're right... it SEEMS to work.
i wasn't hearing any audio output from operator (i think there would need to be some kind of audio through in the patch?) so i tried the same thing with one of the factory patches.

my test:
drop an empty instrument rack on a midi track
drop an operator into the rack
map the coarse tuning of oscilator A to macro 1
put a midi clip on the track and add a repeating note just so as to hear what's happening
turn the macro 1 knob to hear the pitch change
with the macro 1 knob set to minimum, put the instrument into Map Mode.
now, with the clip playing, adjust the min value and listen to the pitch change as you make the adjustment
get out of map mode and turn the macro 1 knob to hear the new pitch range.
now drop Max Audio Effect/Tools/API/Max Api ADial into your instrument rack
on the Max Api ADial, click the Map button and then the macro 1 knob of your instrument rack in order to link ADial to macro 1
now turn the control knob on ADial and listen to the pitch change...
... so far, no prob. the pitch range should sound the same as it did before.
and now, the problem:
go back into map mode in your instrument rack and adust the min and max values for macro 1
on my end, i hear no difference...
basicall, if i want to adjust the min/max values, i need to unlink the max patch first. after making the adjustment, i can re-link it, and it will use the new min max values, but this is an extremely tedious way of working.

does this work on your end?
M4L and Live are both at the currently up to date version on my end...
