Hi,

when I use certain midi files my vsti plugins tend to bounce to an specific instrument. if I change it it bounces back as soon as i hit play. these midi files tend to be the kind you get free. midi's from sample packs dont do it. is there a way to stop forcing an instrument on the vsti?

the only work around I have at the moment is to open the midifile in ableton...copy all the notes and paste them in a new midi & use the new midi on my chosen vst

The clip is sending a "program change". Set that to none. It is in the clip properties.
