Ableton Forum

What spectral/spectrum analysers are good? to use as a VST plug-in with Ableton.

I am looking for one that is very pictorial with simple waveforms that indicate the frequency in numerical terms.

I like the Ableton Spectrum too - but where did you get the other skins you mention? They seem to be separate from the overall Live skins available in Preferences?

Voxengo Span X2! I love it's ability to route two different audio tracks into it and then I EQ them both at the same time. Sooooo good for balancing out kick drums and basslines for tight punchy bass. There's a link to download it on my website here:

Another vote for span.

I have put this in the features request forum in the past. I would love to see a "Sonigram" track lane view option in Arrangement view.

And while I'm wishing I may as well suggest it should have chromatic color coding options.

Sorry for the rant, I think I can add something of interest to this thread as well. Sonic Visualiser is Free and very powerful. It's a stand alone product but still deserves a look if your interested in sound analysis.

hello funken, I was just reading your "Tuning kick and bass" tutorial. Very interesting, good job. But I was wondering about the "pitch mode" on SPAN and Spectrum you were talking about. What do you mean with that? Do you mean the semitone setting on Scale X so you see the notes?
