Select Scene via midi map

Is it possible to select (not launch) a scene via midi control?

I would like a set of controller buttons to select certain scene within the set. They can launch the scene, but it is not necessary. As long as the scene is highlighted, I'm happy.

Note: the scenes I would like selected are not adjacent to each other, and the set cannot be rearranged to accommodate.

this feature is hidden until you turn on midi map learn mode. having the help box open in the lower right will help explain the buttons. enable map mode and look at the right edge of the screen just below your last scene. I'm at work and can't check on specifics.

Thank you for the reply.

However, this is not quite what I am getting at. This will allow me to scroll through the scenes, but not jump to a specific scene with a mapped controller button (not encoder).

I fear that this is not possible...

Upon a closer look, I realized that if you map it to a controller with buttons (not encoder) and the buttons have a value, they will select the scene that is between 1-127. The help made it sound like it required an encoder...

Thank you for the jab to take a 2nd look!

After testing this out, It appears as though ableton distributes the range amongst the number of scenes, but it doesn't appear to be equal. (I'm very tired right now though)

Does anyone happen to know how the values are divided, what is the formula? (especially if the number of tracks does not go into 128 evenly...)

maybe a silly idea, but what what if you create empty scenes until you have 128 scenes ?

It seems that this is still not possible.
I also would like to select particular scenes with a remote controller, even a key on the laptop keyboard would suffice. But it is imperative that the scene is not launched.
I simply want to position the scene so that my next manual remote trigger launches it. That way, we can edit sets on the fly according to feel or audience without interrupting the current song.

Again, remote select a scene WITHOUT LAUNCH.

Someone with a solution is the next president.

You can 'sort' of so it if you are always only using one specific set.

If you map an absolute cc controller to the scene select encoder, you could find out which spots highlight which scenes. You can also do this with a key range of a keyboard and find which keys.

Otherwise you'd probably be looking at max for live. Unless Clyphx maybe does it.

On the Push in Session mode, you hold down the Select button and select the scene with the resolution buttons without launching. Which indicates this should be possible with anything.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem, but wouldn't simply selecting a clip in that scene in fact select the whole scene?!
So if you you leave "Select clip on launch" in Lives preferences enabled, you just need to launch it. Via MIDI mapping it or clyphx or whatever.

So just make an additional track where the clips have no other function than to help you select the scene.

Right?!

It should, but strangely enough I find no option to do this directly in clyphx, which usually gives you most simple options the API provides for scripting.
Maybe Stray (from clyphx) forgot to include it...

You could use the internal IAC driver if you have a Mac?

Sorry just been looking for a solution myself.
