A Capella BPM Matching

Hey Guys,

I'm having a nightmare with an "a capella" from a local artist. The original track is at 140 bpm, the remix needs to be done between 120 bpm to 125 bpm and I just can't seem to be able to have the a capella match 125 bpm without it loosing a lot of quality. I'm starting to feel that this is just not possible within the program. Can someone please shed some light on this for me? I'm going completely nuts!! :?

Thanks,

one of the more mind-numbing tasks to achieve, but yes, it can be done in Live

just putting the whole thing on there and warping is gonna sound shyte, but you probably do want warp mode set to 'complex'

one painstaking way is to split the pella into individual bars, line up the start of each with the 1 beat of the music, literally spread em out, then warp each to taste

this will take time...rest your ears every so often, its no fun

I see what you are saying... this is definitely going to take more time than I anticipated and considering I'm doing this 100% for free, I think I'm going to opt out at this point. If I was getting paid in some way I would do it, but it seems too painful to do it for free.

Thanks man!
