Keep HP filter ON ready to use without sacrificing low end??

Hi all,
I was wondering if its possible to have a highpass filter ON, ready to use anytime but without loosing the low end frequencies when the cuttoff level is on its minimum.
I like to have the filters ON all the time so that every time I want to use it I can just turn the knob of my midi controller. I don`t want to be pressing a button all the time just to ON/OFF the filters.
So is there any Filter that doesn`t kill the low end when the cut off value on the minimum?
Or maybe a way to assign midicontrole to automatically turn off the filter when the knob is turned all the way down to its minimum value, and on the same way turn it on when the knob is moved?
Any way to go around this problem is appreciated.
Cheers
