just wondering if its worth it to buy a synthizer program besides the operator, analog and other synths that live 8 already comes with. Wanting to make some bad ass sounds and just want the best possible solution.

"Best possible" solution doesn't exist. This is a "right tool for the job" kind of situation. Do you want a sound that a particular synth is famous for? Then it's probably worth it to go buy that synth. But if you have nothing in mind? Stick with what you already have until you know what specifically you want that you don't have yet.

If there was a single best possible arrangement you'd see everybody selling that in budles, not to mention putting up torrents.

Analog and Operator are fantastic and should keep you busy for quite a long time as you learn synthesis. I particularly like Operator. If you just want to surf presets you might want to look for a synth that's known for having good presets; I personally think that the Operator/Analog presets are good but not mind-blowing. They're very good utility sounds though.

If only it were that simple. I recommend learning Operator and the other synths with live to start. Otherwise download demos of popular synths in the genres of music you're producing. Lots of people making dubstep really like Massive for example. There are some synths that are really popular with Trance. Look around, play with demos, and see what you like.
