changing the key of instruments

Hi guys,
So I see topics about trying to match acapellas and vocals. I am able to figure out which key that each is in, but isnt there some way that i can adjust the key of the instrument in order to make sure that it is matching the instrument?
I know I can play my beat first and then move it up and down the scales to make it match but is there anyway i can play my instruments alongside the vocals to match as I create the beat?
