After downloading and doing the setup I couldn't see the new version in any folder. Doing a search didn't work either.
My last installed version, which works, is 8.3.4 (32-Bit).
When I tried to repeat the install procedure the only available option was 'remove'. From this I deduced that the version must somehow be installed.
Finally I removed the first installation and installed it again. Then I could see the new version.

Are you on windows?. If yes, you will find the beat installations here.
C:\ProgramData\Ableton

You may need to go to control panel and in the folder options select, show hidden system folders to be able to see the installation directory.

When you run the installer for the second time it will only offer you either uninstallation or maintenance options, so most liekly the beta was already correctly installed.
