It happened on some system, but Andy is usually able to sort the problem.

Oh man, that browser is such a welcome addition. 170 sounds from all the commercial packs free with the update too.

since the Alchemy libraries are growing, the browser is really such an important feature.
not counting the 8 variations per patch

Makes sense

They don't come cheap....although I do have a $20 credit....
So timothy, have you got that new shlomo beatbox soundpack ?
I find most of the soundpacks so so...a bit same old... but this one seems pretty different.

How does Alchemy compare to the new Cronox CRX?4
http://www.linplug.com/crx4.html
Are they similar for sample manipulation, does Alchemy have time stretching of a sample?
Thanks for any info.

Ya Alchemy has really good granular capabilities, you can completely mangle a sample. But it can also resynthesis sample additively/spectrally, so there are many ways to manipulate samples. Alchemy is far more powerful than Cronox in that respect. It also loads multi-zone samples and sfz patches.
And yeah, the new browser is great.

I love Alchemy and its possibilities, I just have a tendency to forget it from time to time. I just rediscovered it for the umpteenth time a couple of days ago, and I'm looking forward to trying out this newest update.

I just wish they would improve sample browsing when loading patches for the individual voices. It's such a pain in the ass to navigate (not even scrollwheel support? WTF) that I end up almost never using it for sample manipulation, despite it being really good at that.
Also improving the additive editor would go a long way
