Pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the standard .mid (file extension), so it must be Ableton that's getting it wrong this time around. I'm importing from Melodyne (audio to midi). Which creates some weird .wav.mdd file extension that I'm sure can't be imported? lol, so I change that to .mid and still nothing. Ableton give's me some lame this doesn't appear to be midi message or w/e. Anyone successfully opening midi files in ableton? If so how? Did Melodyne not think this through? Wav.mdd? Seriously? Lol

I know for a fact that Ableton can open MIDI files. It's simply a matter of finding the MIDI files in the file browser and dragging them into session view. Renaming a .mdd file to a MIDI file does not make it a MIDI file though....

Drag the midi clip to a track with an instrument on it and press play.
