Problems with digidesign 888 and 1622

hi everyone...
i have a problem to rec an external audio signal....!!
I have mac osx and a 1622 and a 888 digidesign!
The external audio signal (i have connected a mixer and cd player) come from Input 1/2 of the digi1622.When i press play on my cd player(connected at the mixer...that is connected at the digi1622) i see the lead of channel1/2 of the 1622 that work
but when i press rec in live..the audio track doesn't rec "nothing" and i don't hear nothig!
I'm sure to have setted all the input and output..i have selectioned Ext.input(type of input) and 1/2input on the TRack 01 (the track where i'm recording the external audio signal) of live mixer!!
Please help me...i'm becaming mad...
