MIDI map snap to grid?

Has anyone ever done this? I'd like to use the USER button on my Faderport to toggle 'snap to grid' on and off but as there's no button in Ableton for this I can't map to it the usual way. Any thoughts?

Max4Live perhaps is all I can think of to do it under the hood.
