The midi settings only take effect in the standalone version of Chainer, not
in the VST versions. It's up to the VST host (Live) to send midi events to a
VST plugin (Chainer VST). But apparently Live doesn't send midi events to
VST plugins so you cannot play the VST instruments you load into Chainer
VST.
To deal with this Live limitation I could allow to select a midi in device
in the VST version of Chainer. Then you could control the VST instruments
loaded in Chainer VST with a connected midi keyboard in Live. But it's
unusual to reserve a midi device from within a VST plugin.Usually it's the
job of the host application to reserve the device and to send midi events to
the plugin. But I'll think about it - perhaps I will add this feature in the
future.

Subject: Ableton Live+Chainer
Well when loading chainer into Live (that doesn't support VSTI itself ,only
VST EFX, , I could load vst(i) through chainer , and those with a virtual
keyboard like quadrasid/junglist/... I can get to play with mouseclick.
However I haven't been able to sequence any vsti. Don't know if this is a
limitation of Live or from Chainer demo. In the standlone version you can
choose your midisettings etc and save it as a preset .... I just wonder if
you load this 'preset' while chainer loaded in Live , if then th vsti would
be able to be midi controlled
TIA
