Distorted audio related to Aggregate Devices?

Hi all,

I've been having problems since updating to 8 when recording from external inputs. Often, perhaps half of the time, I will get a severe crackling/distortion on inputs, which isn't just a monitor problem - the crackling goes to tape. The only cure I've found is to either switch the audio engine off/on, change the driver in Preferences or restart. From the sound of it I'm inclined to think it's due to sample rate differences, since I use a RME Babyface and a MOTU Traveler together via Aggregate Devices ( Mac OS 10.6.8 ) .

Is this a known problem? And if so, is there a solution beyond just restarting the audio engine all the time?

I use both Live and Logic Pro on a daily basis and I've never had that problem with Logic, that I can recall.

thanks in advance!
Matthew

I remember having this problem a while ago.
Can you select your soundcard directly instead of ussing the Aggregate Device ?

I can - no problem there - but within my setup it doesn't really benefit me to do so.

Well, it cured my problem selecting the sc directly.

It might solve the problem here in the short term but my setup is pretty reliant on having both interfaces.

Is that a confirmed bug?

Bump.

Anyone from Ableton have thoughts on this?
