Hi what i have always wanted to know is what is hawtin doing with his maschine

is he just running maschine vst and drum loops? just wondering cus the lights are always in time on the maschine to the music.

and is he taking bits out of the loops on the fly?

ritchie has been known to use ableton + traktor simultaneously, check out this tutorial

i dont think he is using ableton anymore really just running the vst in to a live input.

but its more about what he is doing with the maschine and the lights that i want to know about.

and yes his boiler room set is awesome

all plastikman set are straight ableton however here, based on the setup, he is probably not using the maschine software but using the maschine to manipulate one shots, loops and samples from the rmx decks of traktor with the two X1's controlling ABCD routed into the DJM-800

He is using Maschines step sequencer

thats right, I should have picked up on that

Maschine is in standalone mode and midi synched to traktor .

Specifically step sequencer as mentioned, but also note repeat is used quite a bit
