I'm gonna buy a new pc and i dont know if it's better to get the 32bits version or the 64bits of windows 7
i know that a beta is out but should i wait for the 64bits version of Live ?

I think off the shelf PCs have W7x64 installed. 32 bit apps run fine. Also Live 64 beta seems to be stable.

The 64bit beta works well. I've moved all my stuff to 64bit.
So definitely 64bit Windows.

If your primary consideration in purchasing IT is its compatability with Live get a mac; a lot of things will be easier.

sorry Odd but i don't live close to a apple store and i had a very bad experience with the Service Care

Definitely 64 bit. If you get a 32 bit machine, you will be permanently limited in the amount of memory you can put on it, and it runs 32-bit apps just fine.

The only real downside is that not all I/O devices have 64-bit drivers available, and you can't use a 32-bit device driver on a 64-bit system. So if you have some 32-bit-only devices you want to use, you might want to reconsider. Otherwise, 64-bit is the way to go.

he's buying a new machine... so there should be no driver issues...
and most other stuff has already got win7 drivers..

I have 64 bit windows 7, it runs 32 bit applications just fine.

Get 64 bit.

If he already has, say, an audio interface that he's planning to use with his new machine, then he should definitely verify that 64-bit ASIO drivers are available, for example.
