Recording a Live DJ set

When doing a DJ set in Live, how do people go about recording it?

- You couldn't use Live because you are deleting and adding new samples from the session loop all the time ( I think ).

- Direct to disk recording would hog your resources.

Recording from the session view works fine for me provided that you are a little bit careful - for example you can't (obviously) delete clips and also if you need to move a clip from one track to another it is best to copy (ctrl+drag) it, otherwise if you have used the same clip previously in the original track you will have a problem. I guess you would have the same problem if you deleted a plugin as well.

If you are recording/ resampling on the fly I think you will be OK, provided once again you don't move or delete the clip once recorded but I haven't tried that yet.

Otherwise you will have to record to a DAT/minidisc/MP3 player/tape or another DAW....

Good luck

Thats the problem, I need to be able to delete clips as I would have the clip play buttons all assigned to specific keys.

I'm going to have to experiment with direct to disk recording. My PC has two internal disks, maybe I should record the mix to one while using the second one for samples. Gonna have to try this over the weekend... Thanks!

umm i just press record and everything records into the arranger.
render it when youre finished.
or if im recording my turntables i just arm a track and start spinning.
dont really know what youre on about with deleting clips.
if youre doing that in session its not going to affect anything happening in arranger.
