Removing audio effect from Drum Rack send - bug

Post by banned » Sun Nov 18, 2012 10:55 pm

When removing an audio effect send from a Drum Rack using External Instrument devices with an instrument plug-in using multiple outputs, the External Instrument devices lose all of their settings. Workflow killer, show-stopper. If this happens during a live performance, you're pretty much screwed.

Here is a video illustrating the issue (1.1mb QuickTime .mov).

Fwiw, this seems to be an old bug, i.e. not new to 8.4b9.

Btw, I also find it highly annoying that the "Audio To" field is greyed out, and as such, we can not route individual device outputs to these send effects. Also, the send comes *after* the main output level ('post-fader'), while the send level is very counter-intuitively placed to the left of the main output level. I know we can put Drum Rack inside another Drum rack (and so on), but that seems a bit too convoluted compared to having an option to send pre-'fader' or directly to the devices set up as sends in the same drum rack. Am I missing some other setting or trick, perhaps?

Hi,

I have bumped the report we have on this and hope we can present a solution to this.
