Bitwig Studio does not support Rewire.

For everybody interested in Bitwig Studio, as per their FAQ, they have no plans on supporting Rewire. This shocked me... I can not use a DAW that I can't Rewire Reason into. And that Jack audio doesn't appear to lock the apps (tempo, transport, record, midi, multiple tracks... etc.) so it is not anywhere near close to being a replacement (correct me if I'm wrong)
Here is the quote from their FAQ... "There is no ReWire support planned, but if you want to route audio and MIDI between different applications, you might want to take a look at the JACK Audio Connection Kit, which is available for OSX, Win and Linux."

If you must use two apps at the same time then it probably wont work for you. For people like me who prefer staying in one app till the completion of a track, this wont be a problem.

Also Im sure there will be some way to link midi and audio to both apps using a combination of jack and midi yoke.

I don't use Jack these days, but I believe current versions also implement virtual midi as well now.

Doing a quick ctrl+F "midi" it looks like it might have just been implemented last December.

natively .. lol... please...
You cant really be suggesting daws to have simple functions performed natively??... its 2012 almost 2013.. its all about ripping your hair out and pilling up when using a daw.

Lame. I LOVE Reason. I mean I have a couple plugins for use with some DAWs... but yeah. Thanks for the fail, Bitwig.

You can use any track from most of the DAWs, including the instruments and midi. So I could use Thor or Kong or anything else from Reason,in session view just like any of Lives native devices. It expands 2 separate DAWs into 1 Giant daw giving you all the features from both.
Basically everybody uses ReWire....

4 years from now Bitwig users will be complaining about how the developers are not listening to users, and how any professional DAW should feature X and Y that it is still missing...
