General latency issues
General latency issues
Been using the regular core audio drivers for my MB pro running Suite 8.3.4 and there is always a gap between me pressing the notes on the keyboard / midi keyboard and the audio actually coming out. Activity on the volume fader always shows up about half of a second - 1 second before the sound comes out, its really annoying.
I don't have my audio interface here, can anyone help?

Re: General latency issues
You can still go into preferences and adjust the buffer size for lower latency if your CPU can handle it.
I don't 'produce.' I write music.

Bump - still having this after playing with buffer settings.KrisM wrote:You can still go into preferences and adjust the buffer size for lower latency if your CPU can handle it.
Thanks for the input though.
Re: General latency issues
Need to know your computer's specifications.
Default audio drivers won't work nonetheless. Try Asio4all.

Re: General latency issues
Write more on setup and routings.
If You use midi keyboard, it may be caused by some HW issues on its side, or improper midi setup in Live.
@ Eventful: it's Mac - Asio4All is useless, as MacOSX has midi implemented by default, and onboard soundcard should work straight away without any 3rd party solutions.

Logic pro 9 doesn't have the same issue, strangely.
Re: General latency issues
In contrast to Logic (and other DAWs) Live adds some latency to MIDI input.
The manual explains that it's done for reducing jitter, see chapter 'MIDI Fact Sheet'.
