Drum rack setting reccomendations?

HI ,
I'm just making some kits, I'm just wondering what settings are reccomended? I had been using sampler, but drum rack has the added benefit of seperate sidechain-able outputs. Also dropping previous sampler kits isn't too tricky. I'm setting up a default sampler setting (not simpler) for drum rack so that I can have weird reverse sounds on some kits. I'm just wondering if anyone's found any particularly helpful settings, for example for the output level, I'm still looking for a bit of headroom, as I will be playing whole tracks live (hopefully!). Also velocity settings... I've noticed drum rack's 808 kit is defaulted at 35%... any more experienced drumateurs got any thoughts on what's a good level for velocity sensitivity for live drums. I'm using an MPD32, so I can totally override velocity sensitivity at will, but yea, I'd appreciate any advice on this! ...for now, back to the lab!
