Been using ML and Live since almost the day it came out, working fine here.

I had problems here. Granted my MBP is a bit old now (mid 2007 2.2 C2D) but was having the audio glitches/cpu spike problem.

In Logic i would get random CPU spikes that were accompanied by audio glitches/static sounds. I would get the same audio glitches in Live just the CPU meter wasn't visually spiking randomly. The was no pattern to this at all. Things would be going fine and the computer would glitch the audio playback up with a static type sound and could last anywhere from 15 seconds up to about 2 minutes a most.

Downgrading back to Lion and the problem disappeared and is working fine. Using a Mackie 1640i which requires no external drivers - complete plug and play on Mac so I can't blame Mackie for bad drivers on their end.

FWIW there seems to be a problem affecting audio/video in ML on some systems. I did find a 60+ page thread over on the apple forums that seems similar to my problem.

Upgraded last night from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion, on a couple of years old MacBook Pro (2.2GHz, 4GB RAM).

All seems fine... upgrade was painless apart from the download progress bar for ML saying "Remaining time 1 day, 1 hour), and in the end taking only around 3-4 hours to download. All migration went perfectly. No noticeable slow down in the OS. Live 8 seems to behave the same as before.

What year is your MacBook Pro?

I have a Early 2008 MacBook Pro that I'm thinking of upgrading to Mountain Lion, & I'm seeking as much info as possible in advance. Thanks

Anyone else out there upgrade an Early 2008 MacBook Pro from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion? How did it go?

I had a late 2007 MBP I was running ML on, again, no issues at all for me.

Any benefits to ML?

Well in my case, way lower CPU loads/faster loading times.

Any plan to update the 2007 machine from Lion to ML? My understanding is that ML is better than Lion, much as Snow Leopard is better than Leopard.

It's a January 2008 model - one of these: http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/laptops/apple-m ... -ma895b-a/ - have upgraded HD size and speed since then and also gone from 2GB to 4GB RAM... but same processor, mainboard etc...

ML is running fine on it, certainly no slower than SL and if anything maybe a tad faster.

Not any more, I recently sold it to my brother in law.

Recently had to change my mbp because the video card on my 3 years old previous machine suddenly blew off. Bought a new 15 mbp non retina. I have to say I don't like the path Apple seems to go now with their OS : if you're not that much into sharing things on FB or buying apps on itunes or appstore, ML seems crippled with these new functions. On the previous mbp, I had just upgraded for a few months from Leopard to SL and was much happier. Launching an avi with quicktime take ages on ML compared to previous OS. Also had some concerns with some network stuff, and I use Lemur so that's a pain. I can't compare performances between SL and ML because obviously, the new one is a much faster machine !
