I have recently downloaded the updated version of the live 9 beta, however it is not recognizing any of the vsts I have installed. Anyone having similar issues?

But no, there should be no problems. User error is my guess, anything out of:

#1 you have not set your VST directory in prefs
#2 you have set a 32bit vst directory and you downloaded the 64 bit version of L9
#3 you have set a 64bit vst directory and you downloaded the 32 bit version of L9
#4 you have a version of Live 8 open at the same time, or another version of L9.
#5 something else.

Me for the moment I can't get the max for live devices to appear like the LFO device they were talking on ( i DLd M4L and installed it), and i do have the actual version of suite 8, so are they not releasing the entire version of beta 9 or i forgot to do a manip' on the way, or do you have just to DL devices from M4L site. Second things , is 9 not using audio effect and midi effect from 8 library as it looks to be missing some of the racks I made. I'd like to speak about that to the beta 9 site but it seems i can't login even after changing my password. I got to try again to drum midi track but it didn't look to work well, maybe i did something a bit too complicated at first, but then i did just a kick snare kick snare and it still wanted to put some hihat i never sang, it will maybe judicious to be able to select wich part of your drum you wanna do (Kck Snare hat shaker) and lay them as you will do step sequencing it, the result will be maybe better, for the one not having the push.
I haven't done a proper tour yet, so i got to dig deeper as it seems to me it hasn't been big changes except the browser!

I got a few issues , sometimes i delete a device by mistake but when i try to recall it pressing cmd-z it seems to not come back at all, i dunno if it does that because im using max , but it can be a bit annoying!

POINTS with problems.

Overall i got some problems randomly appearing and disappearing, plus little complaints resumed here

- I had some problems with the new beta version, when loosing devices or tracks, with the function cmd-Z who was randomly working, as things were freezing , but couldn't get them back, so loosing them and all the work made on the preset.Now i make sure i save every minute , and anyway it looks to work properly now.
- I did crop a sample and i can loop it forward but not backward, strange.
Other thing i did rearrange my library in suite 8 with more precise folders like what type of perc instrument or what type of synth , and it doesn't seems to appear in beta 9 , the same way in the future i'd like to have more folders for max to add more precise genre folders like -'LFO's'

on the top of already made folders -Midi instrument
-audio effect
-midi effect
,so i hope that will be rectified on final version.

-It took e a while with the new automation point ,it's a bit less instinctive but maybe for a better use, i thought they will have changed the way you could move an entire vertical line from left to right (or the other way) rather than to move one points followed by the other, it's twice more action.
And I can't stress out the need of a better Sample editor, as , for example , i got this audio file automated, with pitch, to do a riser, and as i need longer, i need to go to arrangement view delete the automation , make it longer, and add the automation again.
I am surprised to ask: where is gone the possibilities to lockdown the automation or un-lock, i can do none in my version.How id do if i like the automation of, let's say an LFO but i want to copy the clip and its automation to slightly change it in another part of the song?That's a bit annoying that you had to duplicate separately the clip from the automation, and then move them separately.
It looks very hard now to target your starting point on the grid correctly without zooming a lot!

A good thing in the browser will been to insert what 'kind' of files you looking for, let make myself clear, imagining you look for bass , you can go to 'all results' but yo can only see the results arranged by names, that will have been cool to be able to search , as a second option by 'kind' rather than clicking on each folder ' drums -instruments etc' and their subfolders.
I like the 'sounds' category but it needs to be a bit richer, and it will have been good to implement the same kind of browser that you get for apple samples or either N.I synth, with the possibility to tag the style of the sounds ' bass, lead, aggressive, wobble etc' again for a gain of time.

-That will have been nice to have when , you take a clip and hold it ,and then press to go to arrangement view, and to target the highlighted track on the other side you want to put your clip on, as most of the time , you want to put in the same track in session or arrangt view, rather than to look for the right track to gain some time all the way left or right ,or up and down depending which view session you're on , or at least to propose an option of 'follow track from arrangement to session view' in preferences, as i don't have a 46 inch screen.

I got to say, and sorry abut it, that I am not really impressed with the audio to drum midi, it isn't very efficient as it was looking on the video published about it
2nd the implementation of M4L is the real thing I do like, but then you got to get the suite 9, i already got the 8 so it's fine for me but I do not feel , there is huge improvement for live 9, I found it even a bit more slow.
3rd the new max devices are more or less an improvement to devices who were already on the M4L site made by individuals, it's still good , don't get me wrong , i asked for an LFO a long time ago , you can check my previous posts as a better arrangement for midi notes as many of us did. I asked as well a better way to cut and chop your audio, i still find this tricky to transfer your clip to arrangement view to be able to cut and chop , then join it , and transfer it back to session view, when it will be easier to have a kind of window that could open at least if you want to, to their own sample editor (or at least one of your choice if they can't be asked to make one) , anyway……..
4th considering my 3rd statement , so ,consideringthat if you're not buying suite 9, so live 9, what you got different with the previous version , is
-glue compressor
-better compression
-better EQ,
and don't get me wrong they are way better, and a --------------- audio to midi implementation ----but i leave each one to make his own idea on that feature------------ so i will rather wait a bit more for the ableton team to release it to get some real and small changes as stated above that will make a real difference or some new gen awesome synth!

POINTS I like

- cmd F to go to audio to…. even if i don't use that much.
-All that said, Ableton is and will stay a beautiful piece of work, that i will use again and again ,here i'm just saying, i'm french and can't help the thing that we do have to be arrogant pricks, if not we won't be french! ;D

Yes I would have loved to leave my comments below on 'get satisfaction' but I have tried again when i go to the link they say i got to login and then says that send me a code on my email adress, when almost two hours later i got it, they say i input the wrong number, meaning i can't get into the get satisfaction forum since day one,or i can login , without the link , and then i can't find the ableton beta forum

I have the same problem with Ableton 9 not finding any of my vsts. I have everything pointed to the correct directory and am running the correct version of live, so there shouldn't be a problem. I'm on Windows 7, even did a restart after installing.

And your using the correct bit version? I.e. you have 64bit vst's installed and pointing correctly for the 64bit version of live? Or 32bit for 32bit live? There is no bitbridge, you have to match types correctly

+1 here for the vst issue. my bits are matching correctly and I till am not seeing them.

also I my Digi002 rack does not show up as an audio I/O in the prefs, although the midi does for it
