$159 for Live 9 Standard (coming from Suite
$249 for Live 9 Suite (coming from Suite
Looking like I may not update (as mentioned in other thread) or just go with Standard...since I have everything else but the Live 9 content + M4L stuff. But I may cave, tough call since they are only giving us a week to decide.... Give me a month instead and I'd have maybe better odds at going Suite 9 but need to ponder....

Man -- bummer the upgrade sale is so short. Not in a position to do the upgrade (saving up for my trip to DEMF in May! Woot!). I wonder what the upgrade pricing will be Live 8 Suite >> Live 9 Suite after the sale...

^ i show $299 crossed out with the low low sale price of 249! ... so, they are implying, at least, that it will be 299.

Thanks H20nly. That's actually not so bad. I'll take the $50 hit to purchase it at a time that makes more sense. Hopefully by summer

I do not know and suspecting that the $159 may be default price with no discount since there is no higher amount (like I was suspecting it to be like $179/189 with tiny discount) and I am not sure if the $159 pricing is for that week only or not. Will ask abes via my previous email about that.

And the price to Live 9 standard I assume is not date dependent?
I'm pretty sure the week's reduction is purely Suite to Suite. Just wanna check.
neither of them show as date dependent.
it could be that a new price will appear on March 5th.
rightfully that should make all the people that have been complaining rethink their implications... truthfully, they will probably just imply/think that Ableton was intimidated by their empty threats.

mine looks just like the picture you posted above. Reddish colored March 12th timeout banner on Suite.
nothing on Standard.

I have Live 8 Standard and I don't get that "March 12th" header.
Ableton support aren't replying to my emails about upgrading. Possibly trying to drag it out knowing I'll just have to push the "Upgrade to 8 Suite" button before the 5th :/

Checked pricing not logged into account and saw the following:
Live 9 Suite: $749 (my price for one week $249)
Live 9 Standard: $449 (my price with no date $159)
So either way we're saving a reasonable amount of coin with the upgrade, I just don't care for ONE WEEK only crap. That's rather short if you ask me and I personally don't think it should be a limited time offer. We know it'll be $299 if we don't purchase it in the first week at the minimum for Suite. But Standard has no limited time offer so I would expect that to not change, but then again I don't work for ableton.

If you have Max for Live already, and you upgrade to Live 9 standard, you keep Max for Live and get to use all the new Max devices. I have had this confirmed.
Question: presumably then your Max license is updated to 6, so you can create and edit Max devices in Live 9?

Yes, Max for Live in Live 9 will unlock Max 6. Does this answer your question?

I think so Daniel, thanks. Just to double check then...So you don't need to buy Suite? You can keep your existing max for Live and use it with Live 9 to edit devices as it will be upgraded? I'm just double checking, sorry to be a pain.

That's correct. If you have Live 8 and Max for Live, then upgrade to Live 9, you can use Max 6 with Live 9, no need to buy Suite. It's a little tricky to get all these nuances communicated, sorry about that.

So, just to be sure about this.
I am a Live 8 suite owner & own Max For Live. My options to upgrade are:
It has been bought to my attention that I don't have to choose the 'Upgrade to Live 9 Suite' option, as I already have suite & M4L, and can just upgrade to Live 9 standard.
This will give me all the new M4L devices, including Convolution Reverb etc.
I miss out on 39 Gig of content included in the new Suite.
Does this mean I am still a full suite owner if I go for the standard upgrade?
Is the extra content just a Live 9 'bonus', but not actually part of the suite?
Am I getting the full 9 instruments & not just 3 ?
What 3 Effects am I missing out on ?
This to me, has not been made clear.

You miss out on no effects or instruments, because you already have them.
Apart from the sounds, and obviously Max for Live if you don't have that, one other advantage to grabbing Suite now is that it will probably mean that eventually the upgrade to Live 10 is cheaper.
However if you have Max for Live and lots of samples, and money is tight, going for Live 9 is obviously worth serious consideration.
max 4 live is a different version though right? you don't get the newer devices?
