Have you guys bought the Live 9 Suite download version?

I wonder how heavy is the download since all the library is 54 GB !!!!

I have the Suite 8 version boxed and there was many instruments NOT included in the download version.

Do you know how things are now ???

It seems there are no differences between boxed or download versions, is it right???

The rest of the library of sounds comes in packs that are separated and downloaded from the Ableton website.

i mean the total in Gb...

differs... the whole suite download is about 30gb

omg a week of downloading time....

how can it be different if every suite have the same amount of sounds?

you don't have to install all packs before you can start using Live9.
Just those that you need.
Some packs can be several gigabytes, some < 200MB.

Download speeds aren't too bad. I was downloading each soundpack at 1.4MBps. I'll download all first and delete what I don't need later.

@ filter... i'm not sure if there is some other technical reason, such as connection speed on your end, that would slow the downloads down for you, but since the packs are all broken up you can do them as background batches and prioritize fairly easily.

also, bear in mind that the size of the download is not the size of the final installation. the packs expand when you install them so they will typically be somewhat larger afterward.

So if Ableton server is fast the download is not a problem.

no CDs...just a book. Yay ableton. They can suck it.

@Peter: so how can i use my sounds if the browser don't see them?

@everybody: my thread is about a Suite 8 to Suite 9 upgrade download, so i think i don't need session drums since i have it already, or it has been modified and i have to download it again as the other packs/sounds?

all my download speeds were really good. i downloaded Live and all the content in 2 days... but that included sleeping going to work and life in between downloads.

i wanted the box. in the past i always got it, but this time they wanted an extra 50 dollars U.S. plus 9.90 for shipping to purchase the box. so, 60 bucks. LAME. i didn't get it.

if speed is your only issue... then get the download. it will arrive faster than the box unless you're on dial up.
