Hi all,

I used to have Studio One so would export finished projects into this to create mp3's and put all the artist info embedded into the file.

I've sold my copy of this now so need a new tool - can someone recommend me a free way to do this?

cheers everyone!

Audacity + Lame will prompt for tags when exporting to mp3.

Also I discovered the other day that the file explorer in windows 7 let's you edit mp3 tags!!!
you can even edit multiple selections at once

Thanks man,

Unfortunately everytime i load up Audacity it crashes before it even gets loaded up!

Have deleted and re-installed a few times but every time the same.

Weird.

Any other free tools you know of? I have googled but getting very confused.

There's a program called Max (not the same as Max for Live) that's free and lets you add metadata. I think it's mac only, but judging by your username, that shouldn't be a problem. It takes a little bit of getting used to, but it works great once you figure out the proper steps.

I recommended mp3tag, it´s free and has a bunch of functions which are nice to use

for mp3 encoding and other formats too i recommend foobar2000 (it´s free too), basically it´s a audio database player but it can encode in variety formats > http://www.foobar2000.org/
