Has anyone else noticed that when you chop a sample in Live 9 the resulting drum rack with the samples is crazy loud? Like stupid loud. Even though the volume has been decreased -6db the chops come out WAY louder than the original sample. Am I being an idiot?

It depends on your slicing preset and velocity settings also.

I'm using the same preset and velocity setting as before in Live 8. Its a basic custom MPC style slicing preset. I don't know what the problem but the resulting chop end up at -6db and still are waaaayyyyyyy in the red. Like blow your speakers type red. I don't understand what the difference is.

I haven't tested your exact issue, is it a preset you had saved in Live 8 and moved over? I'm curious to see how it would act if you created the preset inside 9 and saved it.

I figured it out. It was a velocity problem. My slicing preset has the velocity at 0. And when I chop in Live 8 is stays that way. However in Live 9 it changes it to 100. I tried remaking the preset in 9 with the velocity at 0 but it still changes it to 100 when I actually slice the sample. Is there a way to fix this aside from manually?

I'll check my slicing preset to see if it behaves the same.
