Live 8 Could Load iTunes mp4 BUT Live 9 Cannot?

I was working on a set in Live 8 and was routinely able to simply drag and drop music from my iTunes library into my Live set. After I upgraded to Live 9, all of the iTunes tracks I had dragged into my Live 8 project was missing.

Does anybody know why this is? Why the functionality was removed? Is there a work-around?

Thank you all.

The file might be corrupt or DRMed. Id say try another one that you are sure has no DRM.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. What's odd is that the same exact files that opened in L8 do not open now in L9. That's odd to me. I'll try it with other tracks from my iTunes library, but I'm not understanding how the same file works in one and not the other. I had to convert the files to wav to get them to load.

Take care and thanks again.

64 bit live cannot open mp4 without a seperate codec. QuickTime is not 64bit ready, and 32 bit uses QuickTime. When I get back to my computer, I'll post the link support sent me for codecs that should work.

Ah, that makes perfect sense. My L8 version was 32-bit (not 64-bit). Now I understand. Thanks for sending the codec links, that's very helpful. Take care.

Thanks for the link, but it doesn't seem to work. If you have a second, cjhoffmn, could you please provide a link? I'd appreciate that. Thank you guys.
