Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a non-administrator user account on Mac OSX (I'm using 10.8.3)
2. Install Live 9. Admin password is required to do this
3. Install Live 8. Admin password is required for this as well
4. Open Live 8, then close it
5. Open Live 9, admin password is required for something (registering URL scheme, I suspect, but I'm not 100% sure on this)
6. Close Live 9, open Live 8. Password is required.

Basically whenever I open one, I am required to enter my password if I want to switch back to the other.

Hi,

This happens because the rewire client reconfigures for either Live 8 or Live 9.
Are your live 8 & 9 both 32 bit?, are you doing following
Opening Live 8 / 32 bit
Opening Live 9 / 64 bit?
Can you reproduce when you go from 8 / 32 bit to 9 / 32 bit?
