but what's the point of having a synth rescue if folks are going to try and rescue the synths from you?

In my neighborhood, everyone knows the house that belongs to "the crazy synth Lady". She has like over a hundred synths in that little place! All cooped up starving for juice. Its a real hole.

Ah yes i have much problem with the synths vs cat hair..dust (we live in a country home in the forest). I use a vacuum cleaner with a soft tip today. I use this for my synths as well (and an old soft toothbrush to coax the dust out of the crevices before vacuuming) - I use a low wattage setting on the vacuum cleaner so the nozzle never gets banged into the interfaces themselves. Has worked for years this way. Same for my laptop.
