How did this thread get to be about Funken's blog?

Post by re:dream » Thu Mar 28, 2013 6:14 am

I have been wanting to change my user name for ages. (Quiet Ou is a musical in-joke in South Africa but totally irrelevant anywhere else  ).

I have written to the Forum admin many times requesting this and I got nowhere.

And now Funken changes just like that. It's so unfair.

I like the name quiet_ou - it's enigmatic and sounds like it might mean something

+1

'Ou' in Afrikaans means dude. So quiet dude

But 'Quiet ou' sounds like Kwaito, which is the name for a brand of raucous nasty electronic township jive.

I changed mine.. I just sent an e-mail to support and they did that for me..

May have been an exception because my account was under TYLRbass but my forum name was different so I just wanted things to be simple..

Does your new login also have the same join date, number of posts, and the ability to hop swap user names in posts and and thread creator columns?

I thought there was a hard and fast rule since the beginning of the forum that name changes were verboten.

?

Maybe I'm wrong on that, but in any event I'm keen on the tutorial, the inevitable thread that follows, the erasing of all posts by the author in the thread, the new thread that will pop up to offer bizarre martyr-like rationalizations, then another name change.

:x

Fuck, I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

:x
I came for the
But stayed for the :x

You forgot the irrelevant "let's pretend I didn't just make an ass of myself thread after the martyr thread.
