First Impressions

Post by doc holiday » Fri Mar 29, 2013 6:26 pm

thought I'd make a thread on first impressions to see what folks think so far.

I'm having a blast but still a little lost in the interface at times I'm using mostly the built instuff these days so everything is interating very tight. So far laying out drum tracks with simple variations is super easy, I can get caught up just with the drums.

also, do you have to have push to post in these parts?
no one but me having first impressions or can we just expect no one can pull away from it yet

Yea man! Iam loving this thing. When I first got going on it I would be like it would be nice if I could do this or that but then I would find out you can! Ever thing working real good for me. The rec. button don't turn on sum times when I got a synth line going and I tap it real quick. You really got to press that mug. But that's my only complaint. O yea and I can't pull up my live 8 library with sucks cuz I have a lot of presets n drums I made. got to go to computer to pull it up... I'll have to consolidate my library's when I burn all my old songs to wave files cuz I got 32 bit plugs that won't work with 64 but...its is a pain but it is what it is. Still love the push every thing I wanted. Pads are harder that what I was thinking but work real well I like them a lot! Well worth the money!

I'd also like to be able to dial up my Live 8 suite stuff. Not sure if that's possible. If I could get at them, I was going to spend some time renaming to see if I can call my favourites AA.. something so they sort first on the Push.

I like the pad feel very much - I set the threshhold to -12 and the curve to Log 2 which works well for me. What I *really* like is the new melodic licks and harmonies that arise with unfamiliar but correct fingering patterns. As all rewiews have said, it has a quality feel far beyond its pricing.

On thing I did in live is create a live set that's full of all my drum kits. when I'd create a kit I liked I'd save it, quit out of live and open the drum preset set and add a track and load up that drum preset.

From there I save the set as self contained and open it on a fresh instance of live and save each kit as a pre-set again.

Yea, that record button is a little hard to tap. There's a foot switch in my future.
