For some reason when I press the drum pads they dont turn blue(selected) i have to press select+press the desired drum pad to turn it blue(selected). How do I set it to turn blue automatically by just pressing the drum pad?

The "Auto-Select" button on the drum-rack (bottom-left button on the DrumRack device in Live) is probably deactivated. Turn it on and you should be all set.
