Strange behavior on 9.0.2 – can you reproduce?

Post by metastatik » Fri Apr 05, 2013 9:58 am

I’m finding some strange behavior using Push and Live 9.0.2 (32-bit on Windows 7). I can’t tell if this is a problem with my specific hardware or a problem with the Push script. If anyone can please try the following steps and post your results, I’d appreciate it:
  • Start from a blank set.
  • Select an audio track (or the master track).
  • Raise or lower the track’s volume so the set is marked as needing to be saved.
  • Ensure that the track is still selected and then save the set.
  • Re-load the set.
  • Take a look at the Key/MIDI In indicator in the upper right of Live’s window.
For me, this indicator will stay almost constantly lit and doesn’t stop until I select a MIDI track or switch to Session Mode. FYI, this indicator should only be lit when receiving data from the controller.

Upon monitoring the controller’s output when this occurs, I can see that it’s constantly sending MIDI note messages related to the matrix. These get sent from the primary port or secondary port if User Mode is activated.

This, in itself, isn’t a major problem, but it can create problems with stuff going on in User Mode.
