Click track ONLY through the headphones???

Hi folks. I'm trying to separate my outgoing signal between master out and cue out, so I can hear one of the tracks through my headphones only while the rest plays out to the PA. but for some odd reason, all the tracks are going out BOTH the cue out and the master out. As in, I hear all tracks thru both my headphones and the PA.

I have only one set of stereo outputs, so I have my output config in preferences set to 1 mono & 2 mono, as well as 1 & 2 stereo (it automatically selects this second one when I select the first). Then, I have my cue out in the master track set to 1, while the master out is set to 2. I clicked the little blue headphone cue button on the track I wanted to cue out. But still, Every track just plays thru both headphones and PA.

What am I missing here? How do I split the signal?

Thanks!

did you set the cue out on the master track to 3/4 in ableton (what ever output numbered output your cue mix is)... what are you using to send audio to your PA from ableton. a mixing console or audio interface. if you're using an interface you probably have to set the headphone out to 3/4. I have a focusrite scarlet interface that does it with a switch onn the front panel and my projectmix i/o firewire interface changes the headphone out from 1/2 to 3/4 in within driver software.

I don't have a second set of output channels so that wouldn't work (no output on 3 and 4).

But I figured it out. Apparently, you have to deactivate the cue tracks yellow button, otherwise it will also send the signal to the master out, even when you have the blue cue button pressed, telling it to go to the cue out.

But thanks anyways!
