Hey,
I am getting really fustrated with live, I can open it up fine on my Mac but I cant load some previous projects . The ones that I cant open are projects that are using a high CPU. The program quits when trying to open. Its never done this before. It also crashed and blew up the plug adaptor board I was using!
Is this my Mac's fault? Its a G4 powerbook.
Also, I just purchased Novation's V-station soft synth, When opening it up in live it doesn't come up with the synth but just a small plain box!
Please Help.

Cheers,
Greg B

live 4.1.1 Crashing when opening earlier saves

I'm having a very similar problem. Using Live 4.1.1 on my Powerbook G4, OsX 10.3.8, I can launch files created on this Powerbook but not my earlier files, originally written on my Powerbook Wallstreet G3, using Live 4, Os9.2.2. In effect, this appears to mean that by upgrading to a new Mac, I've lost all my Live projects. Or is there some kind of export/import function I'm missing out on?

Hi trancemonkeyuk,

can you send me the Live sets (just the .als files, no samples, packed as .sit or .zip if possible) you cannot open?

Have you tried if Live 4.1.2 behaves different on these Live sets?

regards,
Alex

That thing with the plain box coming up happened to me with absynth. All I had to do was update absynth to the latest version and the graphics were there

My live is also crashing when loading previous sets, I do have VSTs loaded in the set, is there any way I could get any help here? This is has happened to me in the past and is really getting on my nerves :( .

I am using Live 4.1.4, Tiger, on a Brand new Dual 2ghz.

Thank You.

Same problem here... except half of my old tracks work and half don't, and there doesn't seem to be any common factor.

Equally frustrated as just transfering stuff from my knackered old Mac (OS9 which seemed pretty stable) and onto a new iBook with Tiger - both were using 4.1.4...

Any clues out there...?

I seemed to find a work around last night... try and see if it's the same issue; Previously opening Live sets direct from the Finder in Tiger and direct from the browser window in Live always caused me to crash with files imported from OS9.

Instead I opened a new clean Live file, and then use 'Open File...' from the menu bar. This asked me to relocate files but didn't crash and then let me save. So now I'm up and running.

I don't see any reason why this would work differently but it did...
