Here is a MIDI rack that you drop onto any MIDI track that allows you to use your Launchpad as a Push Controller!
Works in Live 9, not tested in Live 8, but it might work. Nothing to lose!
Note: The default scale is E Minor. You can change this using the pitch and scale MIDI effects post-device.

Unzip with 7zip, winzip, or winrar
Place file in C:\Users\...\Documents\Ableton\User Library\Presets\MIDI Effects\MIDI Effect Rack
Open Live 9
Find device called "ATTW7 Launchpad Push"
Drop device on any MIDI track
Play!
Note 1: The lights in the image were made by recording the correct notes into a MIDI Clip going OUT to the launchpad. You have to set that up yourself.
